After working in a large company for many years, Tony Richardson and John Callander established SPT in 2001 to manufacture products for the engineering industry. Their experience in both manufacturing and the subcontract industry was invaluable in identifying a niche market.

“We offer a versatile and flexible service of electro-mechanical and engineering services to all industries. Because we’re reasonably small ourselves we’re able to work directly with our clients,” said Tony Richardson, managing director. Although only a young company SPT professional services have delivered in many industries including electronics, pharmaceutical, defence and construction. Their reputation for quality and service is rapidly growing.

Both Directors are constantly monitoring and identifying improvements in both methods and capital investment to ensure the continued wealth and growth of the company. “Our team are highly trained and empowered to make the decisions they need to in order to get the job done,” explains Tony Richardson.

SPT is an ISO 9001 2000 accredited company and has all the necessary procedures in place to satisfy any customers concerns with quality. All the staff are trained or in training and are highly motivated to help with SPTs growth and customer satisfaction. There is an active apprenticeship scheme to encourage young people to enter the engineering domain, and experienced engineers and technicians provide the balanced resource available for the variety of disciplines on offer to clients.
